One Hundred Years of Beautiful Furniture

Nathan Furniture has made significant brand investment, with new products and the launch of its 100 year anniversary.

Nathan latest range is Shades Bedroom – a stunning oak collection of nine pieces which features Shades signature curved design that runs throughout the hugely successful and well established living and dining collection.

A century after Barnett Nathan first started making hand-crafted furniture from his workshop in East London the company, which still bears his name, is celebrating 100 years of manufacturing in 2016.

Nathan continues to manufacture beautifully designed, quality cabinet and upholstery collections to exacting stands and is one of the few names that have been in virtually continuous production since it was founded.   Together with its sister company Sutcliffe Furniture (which it acquired in 2011); Nathan is based at Frostholme Mill on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border where a team of 80manufacture quality cabinet furniture in what was previously a Cotton Mill.

Nathan and Sutcliffe are part of the newly created Nathan Group – following the acquisition of the Morris Furniture Brands Ltd, in August – the Group portfolio now includes Morris, Zone and Relaxateeze.

The new Nathan Group supplies over 600 independent retailers together with multiple retailers across the UK with a collection of well-established cabinet and upholstery brands.

Still with an eye on innovation Nathan Furniture is celebrating the centenary with an integrated marketing campaign to increase its profile and recognition with consumers, and further establish the design and manufacturing credentials of the brand.

Nicholas Radford, chairman of Nathan Group commented: “Our 100thanniversary is something to be celebrated and is the ideal platform to launch new products and a new campaign to build equity in the brand and support our retail customers.  We have one of the largest furniture manufacturing sites supplying the retail trade in the UK of upper middle market furniture and our mill continues to produce high quality furniture. “
